Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1992, A.J. began his music training early singing at the side of a piano at the age of five and performing in his church choir and elementary school. Now eighteen years old, A.J.’s career has picked up speed. In June he sang for President Clinton, and in July, he sang the National Anthem for President Obama.
A.J. is just getting started.
A.J. Green has committed himself to being an inspiration to people with personal struggles and illnesses by creating music about triumph, love, and living life to the fullest no matter your circumstances.
"I don’t want my music to be only about my pain or my hurt. I want it to be about victory over any situation… to let you know that no matter what you may be experiencing, you will make it through." |
Make A Wish |
Anthony “A.J.” Green’s passion for music led him to ask the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant his wish of recording some songs. A.J. Green suffers from Sickle Cell Disease, a condition that can cause severe pain and life-threatening health complications. It is a hardship A.J. must deal with on a daily basis. Of course, you would never know it. A.J. refuses to let his condition get him down or silence him. In fact, he uses it as a source of strength and determination.
However, A.J.’s wish didn’t come true in the way he expected. Make-A-Wish asked A.J. to make a number of appearances on behalf of the foundation. A Hollywood talent agent saw him and brought A.J. to the attention of a noted music manager and of Producer Rob Chiarelli. When they heard A.J. perform, they were hooked. The two asked their industry contacts, from Grammy-winning writers to top recording studios, to donate their talents and services to help A.J. record two songs an entire album. One by one, they all said the same thing: "Whatever you need, count me in."
