Well if working with Shaun LaBelle last night wasn’t enough…the Palms hosted an album release/ birthday party for me. If I weren’t indebted enough to Zoe Thrall, Reggie Turner and Larry Fink over there, they went over the top last night for my birthday. I was able to invite friends and family and the whole evening was so much fun.

We listened to my CD and got to play the newest song for everyone. Then Zoe gave me the ultimate birthday present: a purple microphone that was specifically designed according to the specification given to them by Prince. After I opened it, my mom went up and told everyone how much I have loved mics ever since I was little. A bit embarrassing but she is right. You couldn’t have given me a better present. THANK YOU SO MUCH. This is truly a blessing that will live in my heart forever.

Cutting my first PSA!

WOW!!! Today I was truly blessed to have Shaun LaBelle produce a PSA for my We Need To Change Campaign. Not only is he producing it, he’s setting up cable tv distribution nationally. For those of you who don’t know Shaun’s background, for the past year and a half he has had the number one smooth jazz record in the country and we had some good “artist to artist” conversations during the shoot. Thank you Shaun and thanks Rob Chiarelli, one of the creative geniuses behind my record, for the hook up.

Getting ready to kick off We Need to Change Campaign

Kendall Tenney, Chair of the Southern Nevada Make A Wish Chapter and past NBC anchor did an interview this morning with me for the local NBC affiliate and it will be syndicated to NBC affiliates across the country. Kendall is someone I consider a friend and when he opened up our chat to my “pay it forward” campaign as he calls it, which is really called “We Need To Change” which I really appreciated it. The campaign is going to have its own website www.weneedtochangecampaign.org where I encourage people to step up and help those around them. I have been so blessed and I hope this song and campaign will help bless others. We’re still working out all the details but hopefully you’ll keep coming back to check up on it.

Radio Disney!

Just got off the air with Radio Disney. They played my song Daylight and talked to me a lot about my personal life, which was a lot of fun. I am so used to people talking to me about my music that I almost forgot I had a personal life. Anyway…big shout out to Blake at Disney for all your support and I especially thank the fans I have been hearing from since Disney broke my song. Love you guys and thanks a million.

I went to a Hollywood premiere

What a night! Last night I got to go to the premiere of Zac Efron’s new movie Charlie St. Cloud. I have to be honest, I felt a little weird surrounded by all these kids my age who are so successful, but WOW!!! What an experience!!! It was also fun to watch the movie with them all.

LA Sparks Rock

I’d like to give a shout out to the people working with the LA Sparks for having me sing yesterday for their game honoring the various LA kids groups. They had over 18,000 kids show up. It was an amazing experience not only to sing in front of you all, but it was also my first time singing in an arena likes the Staples Center. I also enjoyed watching the great basketball of the WNBA. Go Sparks!!!

MLB All Star Weekend Celebrity Game

This past weekend I sang the National Anthem and a snippet of Jump at the 8th Annual Soft Ball Challenge USA 2010, the MLB All Star Weekend Celebrity Game.

The National Anthem went great. People said they had never heard a version like the one I did and really enjoyed it. When it came to Jump, we had some technical difficulties but I still sang and handled it very well.

It was so much fun and I met so many great people including Matt Leinart and many other sports legends. I was afraid they were going to make me play as they were all trying to talk me into it, but I had to leave early anyway to catch a flight back to Las Vegas for another appearance. I would like to throw a thanks out to Lisa and Debbie at Sports Profiles Plus and look forward to doing it again at the Super Bowl with you!

So Now I’ve Sung for President Obama, Too!

Who would ever have known that I would be singing for another president just one month later. My dad and I were in the car on our way somewhere when he said “I wouldn’t be surprised if since you sang for Senator Harry Reid they ask you to sing for the president when he comes to town soon enough” and less than two weeks later I was asked to sing for President Barack Obama. People asked if I was nervous or anything and I said “No, not at all.” That’s one weird fact about me… I am never nervous when singing for crowds or anything; I become nervous after I have performed and the applause is all over. President Obama was really cool, he is really a down to earth person. He talked to me like I was just one of the guys, which really made me feel comfortable. This was truly a day I will remember forever.
