Back In America!!!

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

I’m Home!!! I’m really tired and jet lagged, but I’m home. As soon as I got back in town I went to my grandma’s house for a welcome home dinner and then I came home. I’m literally running on fumes of energy from exhaustion so this won’t be long. I am very happy to be back home and although I missed all my family, I miss France already and all the memories we shared there. Despite being stranded and not knowing when we were coming home, I felt blessed and fortunate to be able to experience something not many seniors, let alone schools, get to experience. I missed you all so much and am so ready to get back to work entertaining you all. Be Blessed…

Update from France!!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Hey America and France,
I am still in France, still havin’ fun. We went to Euro DisneyLand France yesterday and in all that fun sympathy began to set in on our way back. Although we are staying in a nice hotel, we weren’t supposed to be staying here and the people who are supposed to check in can’t make it here. Some of the people who also can’t leave the country have nowhere to stay, so they along with their families and luggage are outside of our hotel. I feel so blessed to be able to be under a roof but my heart and prayers go out to those families who are suffering like that.

On a lighter note I do have good news, our chaperones just informed us that we will be leaving this weekend, our plane tickets are purchased and the airport is now allowing a few flights to leave so we should be back very soon YAAAAAAY!! Well next time I talk to you I will be back in America

Guess Where I Am????

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

My classmates and I are in Paris, France for our senior trip. It took me a minute to find a computer, and when I did the keyboard is totally different than the ones in America. Being here in France is AMAZING, the weather is a little colder than expected and the whole lifestyle is different but it is definitely fun being here. We are going on many tours like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge … a lot of walking.

For everyone in America that doesn’t know, a volcano in Iceland erupted named Eyjafjallajokull (try pronouncing that!). It was not predicted to erupt for years. What are the odds of being here when it erupts?  All flights and travel out of most of Europe have been suspended until further notice, so we are kinda stranded here. Some of my classmates are kind of sad and disappointed but I feel as if we get to stay in another country longer than expected and still get to have fun so it doesn’t bother me. I just can’t wait to see what the next week has in store for us. I have to go because we are about to go to dinner tonight and I need to get dressed so I will keep you posted.

Palms Listening Party

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

What a great day! The Palms Hotel recording studio hosted an exclusive media “advance listening” event. And I had a special visit from Rick James’s Stone City Band!

I had a great interview with Fox 5 Vegas news anchor Claudine Grant. She made me feel comfortable and I really enjoyed myself. It felt like we were having a regular conversation and not having an interview. It is the first time I really got to talk about what my music means to me as an artist. I have a fear of interviews and don’t like talking but as I do more interviews I think I will feel more comfortable doing it.
